Chewathai
Chewathai Public Company Limited is a Thailand developer of residential property and ready-made factory buildings. A joint venture between Chartchewa Co., Ltd, and Singapore holding company TEE development Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary company of TEE Land Ltd the company is primarily a developer of condominiums in Bangkok, and more recently townhouse and detached housing projects. Founded in 2008, Chewathai went public in 2015 and was listed on The Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2016.
Its brands include Chewathai, Chewathai Residence, The Shine, Hallmark and The Surawong condominiums, and Chewa Home, Chewarom and Heart townhouses and detached homes. Launches since 2018 include Chewathai Residence Thonglor condominiums, Chewa Home Suksawat-Prachauthit premium town homes, Heart Sukhumvit 62/1 townhouses, and Chewa Home Wongwaen – Lam Lukka and Chewarom Rangsit – Don Mueang housing estates. In 2017, Chewathai subsidiary Kamala Senior Living Co., Ltd. partnered with three other companies to develop the upscale Lifestyle Senior Living Village in Phuket.
Completed condominium projects include Chewathai Phetkasem 27, Chewathai Residence Bang Pho, Chewathai Residence Asoke (acquired from Group AQ Estate Co., Ltd.), Chewathai Interchange, Hallmark Ngamwongwan, Hallmark Cheangwattana, Chewathai Ramkhamhaeng, The Shine, Chiang Mai; Chewathai Ratchaprarop, and The Surawong. Chewathai has also developed ready-built factories at Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong.
The company received three 2017 PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, for Best High-Rise High End Condo Development (Bangkok) for Chewathai Residence Bang Pho, Best High-Rise Affordable Condo Development (Bangkok) for Chewathai Phetkasem 27, and Best Housing Development (Bangkok) for Chewarom Rangsit – Don Mueang.
Primary company directors are Mr. Chatchai Panichewa (Chairman), Mr. Boon Choon Kiat (Managing Director), Mrs. Somhathai Panichewa and Mr. Phua Cher Chew.
Total company assets at the end of 2017 were THB 3.646 billion. Total 2017 revenues were THB 2.042 billion, of which real estate sales revenue was THB 2.014 billion (98.5%). Net 2017 profit was THB 155.5 million. Company stock traded in a 52-week trading range of THB 0.97 – 1.46, and earnings per share were THB 0.21.
Primary company shareholders are Chartchewa Co., Ltd. (33.18%), TEE Development Pte. Ltd (31.88%), Mrs. Jaroonlak Panichewa (4.56%) and Mr. Pete Dheva-Aksorn (1.00%).
